Our Recommendation
Your wall portrait should take up at least 50% of the area above the furniture where they will be displayed. If it doesn’t, the wall space will overpower the portrait and appear unbalanced. The proper viewing distance for an 8 x 10 is 30 to 36 inches, (one arm length). 16 x 20 viewing distance is about 5-6 feet. Prints displayed in a hallway 3 to 4 feet wide should almost never be larger than 20 inches. The further away you are from the print, the larger the wall portrait should be for natural viewing.
